Alternates from past contests

No, I didn't shoot these today. I just thought since you made the trip I'd give you something cool to look at anyways. (I guess I could have shot something new in the time I spent resizing and loading these ones)
These are some unused alternates from various contests that nobody has seen before, so I thought I'd share them. Anything look familiar? :-)

Day 27- Green

Day 27- Green. I tried to shoot this with my 50mm turned around backwards...trying for a macro shot, but ran out of patience trying to get a focused shot. So, that's why there is a lot more yellow in this than I meant for there to be....but I may have learned something--I either need a reversing ring or a macro lens :)

Day 26-Purple?

This probably fits better into the games group. But I was clearing up a corner and came across these wooden brain teaser puzzles and thought they'd be interesting to photograph, so I did.

This is what it looked like before I used the purple photo filter (to stick with my color theme).

Day 25- Red

So...that's my new theme. Every day will be a different color.

Day 21-Tilly

Tilly is the one I can handle...she's a real sweety. Tyler will try to eat my finger and fly away. They don't get let out of their cage very often because of the cats.

Day 20-Lolly

This is Lolly, our kitty kitty. We have another one, (Patches) but she's somewhere being a cat.

I thought I'd post a smile to make up for yesterday :) We got a foot or so of new snow yesterday, so Cody wanted to go sliding.

Day 18-Grumpy

Day 18- Jerry....lol Okay, so I knew it would be like pulling teeth, but I ended up having to stand in front of the television to get a picture of him. Even then, he wouldn't look at the camera! The lights in the living room didn't do me any favors...that's why I desaturated and used a filter.

My plan was to take some more pictures of Cody tonight and have Jerry help me out. Then when he least expected it..."Snap!" (like the one below) But the thought of dragging all that out tonight didn't appeal to me, so I just got him on the couch. Maybe I can manage to get us all in a picture before the week is up.

Day 17-Cody

Day 17-My son Cody. I had to bribe him, but he finally agreed to pose for me :-) I'm very happy with this shot, though I'm tempted to add more negative space at the top. On my monitor the background is all black....please let me know if it's not on yours. I think I need a new monitor.

Day 16-I'm back!

My theme this week was going to be my family, or I guess it still is. If you haven't guessed yet, this is me. I'm still not sure how I'm going to trick my husband into getting in front of the camera...any suggestions? :P

OMG!....It's day 16 already!
I was a little chilly last night so I curled up on the couch with my blanky at 7pm and woke up just now....5:30am....so I guess I definitely missed the deadline :-( At least I didn't miss the school bus...edit cause-I guess there's no bus miss since school is cancelled because of the cold temps.

Well, they ARE paper :P I tried rolling once...lol I couldn't quite get the hang of it, so these are just hanging around now. Today is supposed to be my last day smoking (again), tomorrow I'll try to give them up (again). I have been taking Chantix for a week now, so hopefully that will help me stick with it. Do you think I should've flipped it horizontally?

This is a second one that I liked just as well, but chose the other for no particular reason.

I didn't want to resort to board games or cards, but I had to dig out Chutes and Ladders. I still have lots of games, but none that seem very interesting to photograph. Oh well...one more day of games.

This is a tile game based on the card game Rummy. It's lots of fun, though I haven't played it in a very long time.

Day 3- Guitar Hero
Yay I'm home again! :D

I will be away for the weekend, and will not have a chance to look at or comment on everyone's photos. I am praying that I can get to a computer and post my photo. Saturday morning shouldn't be too much of a problem, but Sunday might be a different story because that day I'll be at my brother's house and I'm not sure if he still has his computer or not! In any case, I probably won't be able to post process my photos or get this blog updated until I get home...I'll just post a thumbnail in the forums for those days. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that it works out.

This is a game that Santa left. It's called-you guessed it- Let's Go Fishin'! The game rotates as the fishies mouths open and close. You have to try and catch them while their mouths are open. I tried to show the motion of the rotating game. I'm not sure if I did that, or if it just looks blurry.
